Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus.
Colossians 1:28
We believe the entire Bible is the inspired, infallible, and inerrant Word of God, and that holy men of God were moved by the Holy Spirit to write the Scriptures (2 Peter 1:20–21). The Bible is the primary and final authority for teaching, reproof, correction, and instruction in righteousness, equipping the man of God for every good work (2 Timothy 3:16–17).
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, equal in power, glory, and perfection (Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14). God is the sovereign Creator of all things (Genesis 1:1), infinite in holiness, wisdom, power, and love (Psalm 147:5; 1 John 4:8). He is unchangeable (Malachi 3:6), omnipresent (Psalm 139:7–10), omniscient (Isaiah 46:9–10), and omnipotent (Revelation 19:6). He sustains and governs all creation according to His sovereign will and purpose (Colossians 1:17; Ephesians 1:11).
We believe Jesus Christ is the second Person of the Trinity, the eternal Son of God, equal with the Father and the Holy Spirit. He was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, fully God and fully man (John 1:1, 14; Philippians 2:5–6). He lived a sinless life (Hebrews 4:15), died on the cross as a substitutionary sacrifice for the sins of mankind (Romans 5:8), was buried, and rose bodily from the grave on the third day (1 Corinthians 15:3–4). He ascended into heaven where He sits at the right hand of God the Father as our High Priest and Advocate (Hebrews 7:25; 1 John 2:1). He shall return personally, visibly, and in glory to judge the living and the dead (Acts 1:11; 2 Timothy 4:1).
We believe the Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Trinity, equal with the Father and the Son. He convicts the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment (John 16:8). At the moment of salvation, He indwells every believer permanently (1 Corinthians 6:19), sealing them unto the day of redemption (Ephesians 4:30). He guides believers into all truth (John 16:13), empowers them for godly living (Galatians 5:16), and bestows gifts for the edification of the church (1 Corinthians 12:7–11).
We believe salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Jesus Christ alone, and not of works (Ephesians 2:8–9). All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23), and the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23). God, being rich in mercy, sent His Son to die in our place, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16). Salvation is received the moment a person repents of sin and places their faith in the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 16:31; Romans 10:9–10). The believer is justified freely by His grace (Romans 3:24), born again by the Holy Spirit (John 3:3–7), and eternally secure in Christ (John 10:28–29). Salvation cannot be lost, forfeited, or taken away, for it is kept by the power of God (1 Peter 1:5).
We believe every Christian is called to live a life of obedience and holiness that glorifies God (1 Peter 1:15–16). Believers are new creatures in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17) and are commanded to walk in the Spirit, not fulfilling the lusts of the flesh (Galatians 5:16). The Christian life is marked by prayer (1 Thessalonians 5:17), faithful study of the Scriptures (2 Timothy 2:15), fellowship with other believers (Hebrews 10:25), and a desire to share the gospel with the lost (Mark 16:15). Good works are not the means of salvation but the evidence of it (James 2:17–18). Every believer will stand before the judgment seat of Christ to give an account of the life lived after salvation (2 Corinthians 5:10).
